Certified Lactation Educators™ secure employment in a variety of places including, WIC offices, hospitals, community programs or private practice. Nurses, Doulas and Midwives often attend the course to compliment the services they already provide.
The CLE® program is not a Lactation Consultant Course and Certified Lactation Educators™ do not provide hands-on breastfeeding support. The important scope of practice for a CLE® is to provide education, support and appropriate referrals to individuals and groups. CLEs serve to promote, protect and support in all areas of human lactation.
