If approved, you will be directed to sign up for the training under the "scholarship" tab. Need to spread out payments? Pay a deposit of $255 and hold your spot. Balance of $340 due one week prior to first day of training. Students receive over $150 of materials including a manual, resource notebook and lactation teaching supplies. CAPPA is the only organization that offers the Certified Lactation Educator™ (CLE®) Course. This certification is a distinction that ensures individuals are proficient in providing high-quality lactation education and support to communities and families. The three-day, in-person training is the first step towards becoming a Certified Lactation Educator™ with CAPPA. This course is designed to improve the skill base, knowledge and perspectives on breastfeeding for perinatal professionals.

Certified Lactation Educators™ secure employment in a variety of places including, WIC offices, hospitals, community programs or private practice. Nurses, Doulas and Midwives often attend the course to compliment the services they already provide.
The CLE® program is not a Lactation Consultant Course and Certified Lactation Educators™ do not provide hands-on breastfeeding support. The important scope of practice for a CLE® is to provide education, support and appropriate referrals to individuals and groups. CLEs serve to promote, protect and support in all areas of human lactation. Credits The CLE® training is an exceptional value. Students are awarded 21.25 L-Cerps by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners #C1771433 and 24 CAPPA Contact Hours. Registered Dietitians: should maintain a copy of the agenda and certificate of attendance for CPEs for your Professional Development Portfolio. Curriculum approved by Lactation Education.
